49 分钟I'm John Prideaux, and this is Checks and Balance from The Economist.
Today, we're going to do something a little bit different.
Over the past few weeks, you, our listeners, have been sending us your questions.
And in this episode, we're going to be attempting to answer them, or at least some of them.
We've had a wonderful response to our call out for questions,
so we won't be able to answer every single one we receive.
But thank you to all the listeners who got in touch,
and we're going to get through a decent number of them today.
Your questions range from the possibility of a third Trump term,
to asylum law, to Elon Musk's plan for a new political party.
So we've got a lot to cover today.
But luckily, I'm joined by Charlotte Howard in New York and James Bennett, who's in Washington, D.C.
And together we're going to do our best to answer the toughest questions you've sent our way on what's been a pretty extraordinary period
since Donald Trump's second inauguration back in January.
Charlotte, are you ready?
I am.
And James, how about you?
I'm as ready as I'm going to be.
That's reassuring.
What's up in D.C. at the moment?
