  • Hi there, I'm Katrina Perry and you're welcome to the President's Path podcast here on the explanation feed from the BBC.

  • Each week we break down what President Donald Trump and his administration have been doing and we look at what it means for America and the world.

  • Today, as always, I'm joined by my fellow chief presenter here in Washington, D.C., Sumiso Moscanda, and our senior digital reporter, Bernd de Boosman.

  • It's been something of a bit of a sticky week here in Washington, D.C., hasn't it?

  • I mean, the president and his team have spent the whole week celebrating six months of success in this administration as they see it while at the same time trying to outrun sinking mud and perhaps unsuccessfully trying to outrun that sinking mud around the Epstein files and what the White House does or doesn't know, what information it's trying to put out there, what information it's trying to hide.

  • So it might be a useful time maybe for us to have a look back at the highs and lows of those six months and try and predict what might might lie ahead and what might be still to come.

  • Yeah, we should be careful with predictions because we certainly will be wrong, especially with the speed that this administration moves.
