But let's start with the Trump administration's massive and quickly growing campaign of migrant detention and deportation.
It won't surprise you to learn that it's getting massive and fast.
Or at least it shouldn't surprise you.
When you hear some of these numbers, Trump's tax and spending law, the so-called Big Beautiful Bill,
the one that gave tax breaks to the rich and will cut off more than 10 million people from their health coverage,
it put Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, on steroids.
The law spends roughly $170 billion on immigration enforcement,
$45 billion of that for expanded detention,
