Hello and welcome to the English like a native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 29,
day five of your English five a day, the second season.
With this series,
I aim to help you to achieve a daily dunk into the English language so you can build a habit and start slowly but surely.
expanding your vocabulary,
improving your listening skills and in turn start to feel more confident and more like yourself when communicating in English.
All you have to do is tune in on a regular basis.
Today is Friday which means we bring together all the vocabulary we've looked at throughout this week into one big story.
So, listen carefully.
and enjoy.
This story comes from one of my team members.
It's called The Morning That Changed My Holiday.
It was one of those sweltering summer mornings that makes you question why anyone ever complains about British weather.
I was staying at my parents' house.
tucked away in the converted loft space that served as our bedroom when we visited.
Their bungalow wasn't exactly built for heat waves and the roof extension,
where we slept, seemed to collect every ray of sunshine like a solar panel.
My parents had been slowly trying to renovate the place over the years,
but some parts of the house were still in a bit of disrepair.
