After a weekend in which more than 100 Palestinians were reportedly killed while waiting for food,
Israeli soldiers are carrying out a ground and air assault in the city of Deir al-Bala in central Gaza.
It's packed with thousands of displaced people and has critical infrastructure,
including a desalination plant.
Several casualties have been reported,
but international journalists are barred from reporting freely from Gaza,
so we have to rely on figures from the Hamas-run health ministry.
