40 分钟Welcome to Intelligence Squared, where great minds meet.
I'm head of programming, Conor Boyle.
In today's episode, we're hearing from journalist and author,
Joey D'Urso, about the themes of his new book,
More Than a Shirt, how football shirts explain global politics, money, and power.
I spoke to Joey live from Soho Sonic Studios in London to discuss his global journey across five different continents,
to uncover the colours,
crests and sponsors of the world's football shirts and what they tell us about the world we live in.
So without further ado, let's go to the episode.
How has your summer been?
I've been watching the Club World Cup.
How's it been since the book came out?
I haven't really been watching the Club World Cup at all.
I need a break from it.
You know, I've been watching a bit of the Women's Euros.
I've been, I love Test cricket.
I know Club World Cup, no interest.
You know, I can't, I need a break.
I need, you know, once every two years we have a World Cup and a Euro.
So this one time every two summers that there's a bit of a break from football.
