单集文稿 ...

  • Hello and welcome to the English like a native podcast.

  • My name is Anna and you're listening to week 28 day three of your English five a day,

  • the second season.

  • I'm here every day of the working week,

  • providing you with material to complete your daily dunk into the English language.

  • Together, we can help you to feel more confident.

  • and more like yourself when communicating in English.

  • So let's begin, as we always do, with a snapshot of what's to come.

  • As a natural thrill seeker, Marcus had experienced many dangerous adventures.

  • But this hair-raising climb up the icy mountain face was testing even his limits.

  • He knew he had to brave the fierce winds and freezing temperatures.

  • The one wrong move would put his entire expedition in jeopardy.

  • The ledge beneath his feet was perilously narrow,

  • crumbling away with each step he took towards the summit.

  • Alright, let's now dive into the vocabulary.

  • Number one on our list is a noun thrill seeker.

  • A thrill seeker.

  • A thrill seeker is someone who enjoys taking part in thrilling things like extreme sports or other physical activities that specifically involve risk.

  • So for example, an off-piste Day of skiing might be thrill-seeking to some, terrifying to others.

  • And a no-go for me, I stick to the piste.
