1 小时 2 分钟Welcome to the LSE Events podcast by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Get ready to hear from some of the most influential international figures in the social sciences.
Okay, welcome everybody to the LSE.
Thank you all for coming.
It's a hot evening in London, Wimbledon's on, so we know you've got lots of other temptations.
But we're here tonight to talk about a really important new book which Ben Chu,
sitting to my right, has just published.
My name is Richard Davis.
I teach economics here at the LSE.
I also run something called the Economics Observatory.
I can see brilliantly that some of you have got our book.
Mark in your hands.
If you scan the QR code you can find your way to our newsletter which is a really good way of keeping up with all that we do.
You can ask us a question on economics and we will try and answer it on the economic surgery page.
So please do that.
But my main role this evening is to ask a few questions and get the conversation going with Ben Chu.
Ben is a journalist with rich experience.
He currently works at BBC Verify,
which plays a vital role in this world of fast-moving news and disinformation,
in fact-checking and getting to the bottom of the real truth of stories.
