Hello, welcome to the program.
This is News Hour from the BBC World Service.
We're coming to you live from London.
I'm Paul Henley.
For a second night running in Washington, D.C.,
Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu will be talking about Gaza and talking up the chances of a ceasefire.
We've got to get that solved, is how Mr Trump put it.
At a dinner he hosted for the Israeli Prime Minister last night the president told reporters that he didn't think there was a hold up and that Hamas wanted a ceasefire too.
The Israeli Prime Minister also said things were going well and he added that he was nominating his host for the Nobel Peace Prize.
On the ground in Gaza, it's a very different story.
The International Red Cross says there's been a sharp increase in injuries and deaths in recent days and weeks,
particularly around aid distribution sites in Gaza.
The ICRC also says it's treated more casualties in the past month at its last remaining field hospital in the south than in the whole of the previous year.
I've been talking to an emergency doctor at NASA hospital, Saba Al-Asma, who sounded desperate.
now we have unimaginable situation.
It's even beyond the words to describe.
Even before these eight distribution centers were opened,
the hospital were collapsing because of the number of the casualties that keep coming every day.
But since the eight distribution centers were opened,
the situation completely collapsed like it's nothing compared to before.
