In Kerrville, Texas, the death toll is now 24,
with more than 20 summer camp goers missing in flooding of the Guadalupe River caused by torrential rain.
The region is called Flash Flood Alley,
and there are concerns that additional forecasted rain could create more havoc.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration.
An extraordinary catastrophe.
It needs God.
But it also needs a robust response by the state and local governments and by people who live in these communities impacted by this.
Helicopters and hundreds of search and rescue personnel are out searching low-lying areas.

Hamas has agreed to enter a new round of negotiations to reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza.
NPR's Hadil al-Shalshi reports the announcement comes days after President Trump announced that Israel had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in the region.
In a statement, Hamas said it delivered a,
quote, positive response to mediators to the latest ceasefire proposal,
saying it was, quote, fully prepared to resume talks to reach a deal in Gaza.
A U.S. proposal includes a 60-day ceasefire.
