His younger brother Andre, also a footballer,
was also killed when their Lamborghini went off the road overnight in north-western Spain.
Spanish police say a tyre blew out
while he was overtaking another car and the vehicle then caught fire.
Diogo Jota was 28.
Just days ago, he married his long-term partner with whom he had three children.
The footballing world, and in particular fans in Liverpool, are mourning his death.
