26 分钟Hello and welcome to Health Check from the BBC.
I'm Claudia Hammond and today I'm at the Royal Society in London for their summer science exhibition.
Now the idea is for scientists to showcase their findings and its roots date right back to 1778 and nowadays anyone who's passing by can come in,
meet scientists, ask them all about their work and play some games.
But on Health Check of course we're interested in the implications for medicine
as is BBC Health and Science correspondent James Gallagher,
who's come with me.
James, I really like this moment of anticipation before we dive in.
Scientists are getting ready because there are hundreds of school children here.
It's going to be busy, isn't it?
Yeah, no, there's so many children here already,
and they're in my way because I just want to play all the games.
Yeah, I think you'll find the children want to play the games as well.
But you've been doing some experiments of your own at home, I gather, in your own home.
I have, in my garden.
in my toilets.
It's all a bit disgusting.
Well, we'll find out more about that later.
And there are researchers I want to talk to who have developed surgical gloves which can train surgeons to apply just the right amount of pressure.
And I'll be finding out what an entangle cam is.
