单集简介 ...

Today, Avon and Somerset police launched a criminal investigation into sets by bands Bob Vylan and Kneecap at Glastonbury festival on Saturday. Adam is joined by BBC media and culture editor Katie Razzall, who reported from the festival over the weekend, to discuss the investigation and the BBC’s apology for not cutting the livestream of Bob Vylan’s performance. And, Faisal and Chris are back for another day of dissecting the government’s change to their welfare proposals. Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall confirmed the concessions in a statement to the House of Commons on Monday afternoon, in a bid to stave off a revolt at the vote on Tuesday. • Hello.

  • Thanks again to everyone who sent in their versions of the newscast marketing campaign where me and Chris very hamfistedly sold the benefits of this podcast in a 10 second social media video.

  • And it turns out you all do it much better.

  • For example, Anne Martindale,

  • who sent us in a poem all the way from Queensland in Australia.

  • suppose there are no distances in podcasting because we're all together all the time,

  • but you get my point.

  • Anyway, here's Anne's poem where she explains what newscast is all about in 10 seconds.

  • I choose the news that won't make me snooze.

  • I'll hear intelligent views while the teapot brews.

  • There'll be political blues, something to amuse and always, always plenty of ooze.

  • A round of applause for Anne.

  • That's beautiful.

  • Thank you very much for capturing what we try and do every day here on Newscast,

  • Anne, and also to everyone else who sent in their versions of 10 second newscasts.

  • Our next gimmick is slightly related to something that Anne has said there,

  • and I will reveal that on the next episode.

  • But I will now kick off this episode in tribute to Anne by doing my own poem that I literally just scribbled very quickly.

  • Here it is.

  • Pam Ayers, if you're listening, don't write in.
