As the 442nd take on the Nazi enemy, they shout their unit’s anthem: “Go for broke”. Ken finally learns why he has been transported back into his grandfather’s life as a soldier. Then he finds himself travelling forwards in time to present-day Los Angeles. This series is inspired by real events and contains dramatised battle scenes and out-dated racial language.   • The Japanese-American 100th 442nd Regimental Combat Team had fought through Italy and France,

  • suffering heavy losses and winning the reputation of heroic and fearless fighters.

  • Attached to the 36th Infantry Division under the command of Major General John Dalquist,

  • they had managed to liberate Briere and Bifontaine.

  • Batigued from liberating Briere and Biffontaine, and with only two days' rest,

  • they were once again called into action.

  • They were ordered to rescue the 1st Battalion of the Texas Division,

  • who had found themselves surrounded by Germans in the Vosges after General Dalquist recklessly sent them up a hill without the necessary artillery or support.

  • Our story continues in the Vosges Mountains of France, October 1944.

  • They're reporting no rations and no water.

  • Four litter cases needing immediate attention.

  • Germans surrounding all sides.
