In the Senate this morning,
the Republican spending and tax cut plan is being read in its entirety.
the measure late last night in a 51 to 49 vote,
the first hurdle in what is expected to be a lengthy process before the final vote.
The reading of the 940-page measure began around 11 p.m.,
and it's estimated that it could take 15 hours to complete.
The vote to open debate largely along party lines,
but North Carolina Senator Tom Tillis and Kentucky's Ram Paul voted with Democrats to oppose the bill.
And in a social media post,
billionaire and former Trump adviser Elon Musk took a swipe at the bill which would end tax breaks for electric vehicles.
Over the past several months international students at American college campuses have found themselves caught up in a political chaos.
