单集文稿 ...

  • Hello and welcome to the English Like a Native podcast.

  • My name is Anna and you're listening to week 25,

  • day 5 of Your English Five a Day, the second season.

  • This is the series with a mission to help you to feel more comfortable and more confident when communicating in English.

  • I do this by helping you to have resources that you can build a habit with.

  • So these episodes run for between 10 to 20 minutes,

  • perfect for your morning commute or for when you're doing a general daily task.

  • So all you have to do is tune in and listen and I will provide a range of vocabulary,

  • something different every day just to keep your brain firing and growing so that over time it can make those connections and you can start fully and freely speaking English.

  • Of course, this alone is not going to transform your language,

  • but it certainly helps as an addition to other tools.

  • Today is Friday,

  • which means we're going to look at all the vocabulary that we've covered this week and bring it together in one big story.

  • So I hope that you enjoy today's dog walking worries story based on my own experience.

  • Here we go.

  • Many years ago, I went through a major chapter change in my life.

  • A significant part of my world had come to an end.

  • I'd been working at sea for years, living out of a suitcase, constantly on the move.

  • But eventually, I hit a point where I knew things had to change.

  • Life at sea had started to feel like a dead end.
