President Trump is set to sign multiple new executive orders today that could dramatically reshape the nation's military.

One of the first executive orders that President Donald Trump signed in his second term in office said that transgender people are unfit for military service.
The order says in part, quote, the medical,
surgical and mental health constraints on individuals who have a current diagnosis or history of gender dysphoria are incompatible with the high mental and physical standards necessary for military service.
Soon after, the US Defense Department moved to ban transgender people from the armed forces,
regardless of ability, rank or service history.
I'm saying by definition, if you have transitioned into a different gender,
you are not meeting our medical standards.
Over the past four months,
the BBC has been following the stories of two trans service people as the executive order took effect.
