the US Department of Defence has confirmed that Iran fired short and medium-range ballistic missiles at its base in Qatar.
Donald Trump, who was actually in a security briefing with senior US officials when it happened,
posted on social media to say Iran's response had been very weak.
He went on to thank Tehran
for giving the US early notice and said the warning made it possible for no lives to be lost.
The strikes were audible from the streets of Doha,
