Okay our friends, so today we are going to read a fun summertime story.
Did you know that there are certain foods that are easily found in nature during certain times of the year?
So for example, in the fall or in the autumn,
you can go apple picking and there's usually a lot of apple flavored things in the fall.
Or pumpkins, right?
And did you know in the summertime it's berries?
Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, all kinds.
Well, this book is full of them.
Oh yeah, this book is full of them.
And it has a note to us before we begin it.
But I'll tell you the name of the book first.
The name of the book is Berry Song.
It was written by Michaela Goad and...
It has a special note for us before we get to read the book.
It says, a note to the forager.
Please only gather berries and other wild foods that you and an experienced adult can identify beyond a doubt.
Because there are many toxic lookalikes.
So you might think, oh, it's strawberry.
But then, come to find out, it might not be.
Oh, it's a blueberry.
