In the afternoon of Friday the 20th of June, MPs voted.
The ayes were 314, the noes were 291, making a majority of 23.
And they had approved the third reading of the new assisted dying legislation for England and Wales.

It will now head to the Lords.
So we'll discuss what the next steps are and just sum up what quite a momentous moment this is for British national life on this episode of Newscast.
