Hello and welcome to NewsHour.
It's coming to you live from the BBC World Service studios in central London.
I'm Tim Franks.
And we're beginning with the war between Israel and Iran now into its fifth day.
The Israelis say they've staged wave after wave of attacks on Iranian sites,
particularly those from where drones and missiles are launched.
The Iranians say they've aimed their attacks on Israeli security installations.
including, they claim, at the headquarters of the Mossad, the Israeli spy agency.
There's also been some extremely pugnacious language out of Washington from President Trump,
who has just, we're hearing, finished convening his National Security Council.
He said in a social media post, we,
we are not going to kill Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at least not for now.
But he's an easy target.
Our patience is wearing thin.
