  • It's coming to you live from the BBC World Service studios in central London.

  • I'm Tim Franks.

  • And we're beginning with the war between Israel and Iran now into its fifth day.

  • The Israelis say they've staged wave after wave of attacks on Iranian sites,

  • particularly those from where drones and missiles are launched.

  • The Iranians say they've aimed their attacks on Israeli security installations.

  • including, they claim, at the headquarters of the Mossad, the Israeli spy agency.

  • There's also been some extremely pugnacious language out of Washington from President Trump,

  • who has just, we're hearing, finished convening his National Security Council.

  • He said in a social media post, we,

  • we are not going to kill Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at least not for now.

  • But he's an easy target.

  • Our patience is wearing thin.
