The U.S.
Embassy in Israel remains closed as the Israel-Iran war continues into its sixth day.
Israeli officials believe the U.S. will join the military attack on Iran.
NPR's General Estrin has more from Tel Aviv.
A person briefed on the matter,
who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue,
tells NPR that Israel thinks the U.S. will join the military offensive in Iran and is waiting for a U.S. decision.
President Trump has said he seeks, quote,
unconditional surrender and other statements that are fueling speculation over whether he seeks active U.S. involvement.
Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
says any U.S. attack will have, quote, dire and irreparable consequences.
The U.S. embassy in Israel has been closed
since Tuesday and says it will stay closed for the next several days for security reasons.
Some U.S. visitors have been leaving Israel by land to Jordan and Egypt.
There are no departing passenger flights from Israel.

New York City controller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested yesterday outside an immigration court.
