Colleagues of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman,
who was shot and killed alongside her husband,
are continuing to grieve and to highlight her legacy.
A memorial at the state capitol is littered with notes attesting to her career
and the respect that she drew across the aisle.
In the nation's capital,
there has been a bipartisan push for more funding for security
while members are in Washington and at their district homes.
One House member told the Notice News website she felt as though she could be,
quote, one vote away from losing her life.
