Hello and welcome to News Hour from the BBC World Service coming live from London.
This is Owen Bennett-Jones.
That's the sound of an Air India Boeing Dreamliner passenger jet flying low over the Indian city of Ahmedabad and in the video you then see it go towards the ground and crash.
And as you can imagine in this age of the phone there are various other videos of the plane taking off and then after just a few seconds going down apparently almost gliding into a building a place where some medical students live and then there was a huge explosion and at least 240 people have died incomprehensibly one British man walked away from the crash he'd been on the plane.
He limped away from the crash site, still holding his phone.
They say he was in seat 11A, first row of economy.
But the relatives of those who didn't survive were left trying to find out what happened.
My sister-in-law was going to London.
Within an hour, I got news the plane had crashed.
I had left for Ahmedabad, then I came back.
We don't know anything.
We have not been able to enter the hospital.
First, we were forced to roam on the streets for an hour and a half.
