I'm El Al Shemahi and this is the conversation from the BBC World Service,
the programme that amplifies women's voices,
which is really just a fancy way of saying that we find two women from different countries who share an expertise,
bring them together and see what happens.
Today I'm speaking to two women who have pushed the limits of what's possible and in the process broken world records.
Getty Kehayova from Bulgaria has the female record for largest hula hoop spun,
5.18 metres or 17 feet wide.
And Domitile Kiger from France has been involved with 10 world record skydiving jumps,
including a 42-person night jump record where everyone had fireworks strapped to their bodies.
Getty, Domitile, welcome to the conversation.
Getty,
let's start with how you got into hula hooping in the first base
because it was actually your sister who inspired you.
Is that correct?
That's correct.
I grew up in the circus traveling all over the world with my family.
So my parents were in the circus before my sister and I were born.
Naturally, we grew up in the circus.
My parents were acrobats and they taught us how to become acrobats as well.
My sister was also performing a hula hoop act when we were younger.
