The Prime Minister was in Scotland on Monday to deliver a pretty scary warning to anyone who might think that we're nice and safe on our soggy little islands.
We have to recognise that things have changed.
In the world of today, the front line, if you like, is here.
The threat we now face is... more serious,
more immediate and more unpredictable than at any time since the Cold War.
Keir Starmer looked at ease, playing the role he likes the most,
the sombre statesman, the reliable grown-up.
Surrounded by an audience of apprentice submarine builders,
he outlined the risks the UK faces.
We face war in Europe, new nuclear risks,
daily cyber attacks, growing Russian aggression in our waters.
menacing our skies.
But Starmer said he had a plan.
