  • The Department of Homeland Security said the suspect, Mohamed Sabri Solomon,

  • was in the U.S. on an expired visa and had filed for asylum in September 2022.

  • Solomon said he had planned the attack for a year and was waiting until after his daughter graduated to strike.

  • The police said that all eight victims of the attack are alive and remain in the hospital.
