Hey there, welcome to Radio Headspace.
I'm Dora, and as always, I'm so glad that you're here.
A while ago, I had a big project that meant a lot to me.
I wanted it to be perfect, so I triple-checked every single detail.
I rewrote sections, redesigned layouts, and obsessed over things no one else would notice.
I told myself this was a good thing.
I was being diligent, thorough, ensuring success for myself and my team.
But the more I micromanaged, the more stressed I became.
The creative flow disappeared, my team felt stifled,
and the whole thing started to unravel.
And still, I held on even tighter.
And that's when someone on my team said something that stopped me in my tracks.
I think the project is good, but I think we're losing the heart of it.
At first, I resisted.
I'm only human.
I'm just making sure it turns out right.
But then I realized they were right.
My grip on the project wasn't helping it.
It was strangling it.
I think this has happened to all of us from time to time.
