In the past hour,
the global business world has once again been turned on its head by an announcement from President Trump.
In what seemed a pretty fired up start to his Friday,
the President first took aim at one of the world's biggest companies, the American tech firm Apple.
I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple, the president said,
that I expect their iPhones that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States,
not India or any place else, he had written on his true social site.
A few minutes later, it was one of the world's biggest trade blocs in his crosshairs,
the European Union, as the president announced 50% tariffs potentially from June 1st on all.
European imports to the United States,
after declaring his frustration that talks on a deal between the two sides had gone nowhere.
Cue global stock market falls and a slew of scrambling business HQs on both sides of the Atlantic this Friday.
