It's one year ago since Rishi Sunak, and Chris Mason for that matter,
got very wet in Downing Street when the election was being called.
Earlier today, I spoke with His Majesty the King to request the dissolution of Parliament.
The King has granted this request, and we will have a general election on the 4th of July.
What sort of has most surprised you about the intervening 364 days?
How long it took my suit to dry out.
And your underwear.
And that was it.
That was the main topic that day.
I was in possession as a result of this moment,
Leila and Faisal, of a newscast branded pair of pants.
Which is still rattling around in my drawer.
Anyway, if we look at a more kind of like substantive view of the last year.
My more substantive view would be what I think is one of the standout trends of the last 12 months in domestic British politics,
which is the rise and rise of Reform UK.
For that to have happened,
for an insurgent party to have continued its rise so consistently and prominently and influentially,
if that's a word, a year into a government with a massive majority, that's...
That would be it, I think.
