It's a disease which still kills half a million people each year despite huge efforts to get it under control worldwide.
It's transmitted by a parasite that lives inside mosquitoes and when the mosquito bites you,
the parasite and the infection are passed on.
But new research just published in the journal Nature has found a compound that kills the parasite
