Today, we’re looking at more details of what could be in a deal between the UK and the EU, set to be revealed tomorrow. Laura’s been talking to the lead negotiator from the UK side, the European relations minister Nick Thomas-Symonds. He says he’s pushing for UK passport holders to be able to use EU e-gates at airports, and that he’s "confident" about changes to lower food prices. Paddy’s been talking to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. And, Elton John has told Laura the government are handling a row over AI like “losers”. There are plans to exempt technology firms from copyright laws for use in AI tech, but he says that’d be theft. Nick Thomas-Symonds reacts. You can now listen to Newscast on a smart speaker. • Paddy, Paddy, Paddy, Paddy, Paddy.

  • So yesterday you made some predictions about the Eurovision Song Contest.

  • Were you right or wrong?

  • Well,

  • I think I was broadly right in the sense that I said that the UK would do well with the juries,

  • which it did.

  • and then crashed.

  • I didn't know it was going to get zero from the public,

  • which said that's the big story for the papers.

  • Poor girls.

  • They didn't deserve zero from the public.

  • Harsh.

  • And it all comes amid Europe reset week, so it's kind of great timing for the broadcasters.

  • Why did Austria win?

  • I have to say I was not a fan.

  • Not that it matters, but I thought...

  • Gosh, what a lot of noise.

  • Well, I mean, it was in advance.

  • It was a fan favourite.

  • So I went to several parties in London two or three months ago when the fans told me it was going to win.
