And I tried again.
And then the manager got on a WhatsApp group and said,
wait a minute, it's not working in all the stores in the area.
And then it turns out,
I'm pretty sure that that was the moment or very close to the moment that a cyber attack against the giant British retailer started.
And something called Dragonforce, we now learn, is involved.
And today,
the company has told us for the first time that personal customer data was stolen in that hack,
which I suppose slightly worries me because my card was in the machine at the time.
