Hello and welcome to the English Like a Native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 18, day 2 of Your English 5 a Day, the second season.
I have made it my mission with this series to give you a daily dip into the English language,
allowing you to build and maintain a healthy habit of language learning.
So make sure that you tune in every day of the working week from Monday to Friday.
And if you'd like to make your learning a little more active, then consider becoming a PLUS member.
I'll leave the links in the show notes.
But for now, let's begin with today's snapshot.
Moving abroad was ostensibly a dream come true for Lena.
New job, new city, new life.
But while everything looked rosy on the surface,
the stress of starting over in a place where loneliness was endemic soon became asphyxiating.
She realised that this exciting new chapter was a double-edged sword,
full of opportunity, but also full of challenges.
This is going to be a tough one.
So, get ready for our deep dive.
Starting with the noun phrase, a double-edged sword.
A double-edged sword.
Double-edged.
Double, D-O-U-B-L-E, hyphen, edged.
