Hello, here is the second episode in our mini-series of Old Newscast,
where we're looking at the fall of the Berlin Wall on the 9th of November 1989,
which lots of newscasters wanted us to look at.
So in the last episode, we talked about what happened on the night,
we talked about the quite bizarre series of things that happened in the build-up to the collapse of the wall,
and we talked about the big...
Cold War and post-World War II history that actually led to the wall being built in the first place.
So where have we got to?
People have streamed across the wall from East Berlin to West Berlin.
Their eyes have been opened.
What better way to mark the moment than a few months later, David Hasselhoff,
who was then a global megastar, particularly in Germany,
performing on the wall for New Year's Eve 1989.
He is still actually quite big in Germany, you know.
Anyway,
let's find out the big changes that were coming Germany's way after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 on this episode of Old Newscast.
