  • Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on China and Indonesia to push bilateral ties to a higher level.

  • The senior Chinese diplomat made a remark in a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Sugiyano here in Beijing.

  • Wang Yi called for jointly developing emerging industries like green energy and the digital economy,

  • saying that both sides should uphold the spirit of free trade and promote two-way investment.

  • And for his part, Sugiano said Indonesia is deeply committed to deepening ties with China,

  • adding China represents Indonesia's largest trading partner.

  • China and Indonesia held the first meeting of a joint foreign and defense ministerial dialogue on Monday.

  • The two sides agreed to strengthen maritime cooperation to promote regional safety and security.
