17 分钟Hello and welcome to the English Like An Aided podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to Week 15, Day 5 of Your English Fiver Day, the second season.
Now it's Friday,
so today is the day that we bring together all of the vocabulary that we've looked at this week in one very long story.
I mean, it's not that long, but it's longer than the normal stories.
So sit back, relax and listen out for any familiar vocabulary.
Let's go.
The wind howled as the swell of the ocean rolled in, tossing seaweed and driftwood across the pebbled shore.
Joss darted down to the beach, her boots crunching on wet stones, her coat flapping wildly behind her.
She loved mornings like this, wild and unpredictable.
It made her feel alive.
She wasn't expecting to find anything.
Her daily walks were more about clearing her head than treasure hunting.
But today, something unusual caught her eye.
It was half buried in the sand, glinting faintly in the grey morning light.
Curious, she kneeled down, brushing away the wet grit her breath caught.
It was exquisite, an oval shaped object about the size of her palm, made of some kind of milky glass or polished stone.
It shimmered like it held secrets.
Along the edges, there were tiny, worn carvings, symbols she didn't recognise faded with time.
Despite the salt and sand, it looked almost untouched, too untouched.
