I'll leave all the details in the show notes but for now open your ears,
open your heart and let's begin with today's snapshot.
As Maya stood at the edge of the cliff watching the gentle swell of the ocean below,
a gull circled high above her riding the wind.
A rabbit suddenly darted across the path making her jump.
She smiled to herself knowing she was at a crossroads in her life and feeling deeply aware of the privilege she had to take time out and be in such a beautiful place.
Let's have a look at that vocabulary starting with the verb to dart.
Now this can be paired with out to dart out or across to dart across or around to dart around.
To dart basically means to move suddenly and quickly in a particular direction.
I feel like when I'm on the squash court I'm darting around quite a lot.
We often have to react quickly in a game of squash.
The ball will be placed on the other side of the court and it's usually quite unexpected unless you're playing an opponent that you know quite well but often you don't know where the ball is going to go and so you have to dart across the court to get to the ball before it drops.
So I'm always darting around the court sprinting very short sprints but sprinting often.
