So, on the day that Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves announced that the UK was getting a new theme park,
we have just recorded a rollercoastered episode of Newscast, during which this happened.
As we're speaking, some breaking news.
Donald Trump has posted on his social media platform Truth Social.
It's quite long, but I think it matters, so I just let's quickly go through it.
Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the world's markets, not the US,
I'm hereby raising the tariff charge to China by the US to 125% effective immediately.
He goes on to complain about China ripping off the US and saying, hopefully they'll realise that's no longer acceptable.
He then goes on to say,
based on the fact that more than 75 countries have called various representatives of the US to negotiate and
that these countries have not,
my strong suggestion, retaliated against the US,
I have authorised a 90-day pause and a substantially lowered reciprocal tariff during this period of 10%,
also effective.
So that is the rather big twist coming up,
but we started by talking about the market turmoil as a result of Donald Trump's tariffs on this episode of Newscast.
Newscast.
Newscast from the BBC.
I like landscape.
I don't think I'm being rude.
