20 分钟Hello and welcome to the English Like a Native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to Week 14, Day 1 of Your English Fiver Day, the second season.
With this series, we are on a mission to help you to get your daily dose of English vocabulary so that bit by bit,
with ease, you start to feel more like yourself when communicating in English.
Now, listening is one part of the puzzle.
To complete your English learning journey, you do have to do a little bit more.
So listening is fantastic, but you'll have to get active if you want to really progress.
And I can help you with that.
Podcast Plus, our very low cost membership, gives you an opportunity to interact with interactive questions,
an opportunity to write your own examples and be corrected.
And if you want to go a step further,
we also offer a conversation club where you can connect with real people having real conversations on a regular basis.
I'll leave the details in the show notes, but for now, let's head to today's snapshot.
The young artist decided to splatter bright green paint across her tiny canvas,
hoping to prop up her reputation in a competitive market.
As the colours began to take shape, her experimental piece slowly transformed,
promising to dwarf her previous more conventional works.
Soon, art collectors passing through the gallery noticed the unique painting that was now on the market.
Okay, let's have a little look at the vocabulary that we're focusing on today, starting with the verb splatter.
To splatter is to splash or scatter liquid or small particles over a surface.
