25 分钟This is the Guardian.
Today, living with Long Covid when the world has moved on.
I thought a lot about hope.
I think you have to have hope, otherwise, what have you got?
This is Emma.
So James is an academic.
We've just had an eight anniversary.
We met on Bumble, one of the apps.
He was a very independent, very busy person,
so he'd be working full time, also climbing two, three times a week.
Whenever he had the car, he would go up to Dartmoor and climb.
James is Emma's partner.
She's talking about the old James, the pre pandemic James,
the James that used to wake up next to her every morning.
He's not at home with me, he's at his parents.
We thought it might be nice for him to have a different view from the bed instead of the pigeons on the roof opposite.
It would have been a lovely garden.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to enjoy that view.
James can't enjoy the view because he has Long Covid.
He's bed bound and is now so sensitive to light that the curtains are never open.
