Hello and welcome to the English
Likinative podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to Week 57, Day 4 of
Your English 5 a day.
This is the series that gives you a healthy daily dose of
English vocabulary so that you can step by step start to feel more like
yourself when communicating in English.
So let's begin today with an idiom.
Regular as clockwork.
Regular as clockwork.
Regular we spell R-E-G-U-L-A-R
Regular as AS clockwork C-L-O-C-K-W-O-R-K clockwork.
If something is
described as regular as clockwork then it's very regular.
It happens regularly.
It
happens at the same time in the same way so you can rely upon it.
For example, if
when you step out of your door in the morning you see your neighbors leaving
their house at exactly the same time every day so maybe it's five past eight.
