Hello and welcome to the English-like and native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to Week 58 Day 2 of Your English Fiver Day.
This is the series that gives you a healthy,
daily dose of English vocabulary so
that you can grow in confidence and feel more like yourself when speaking in English.
So let's begin today's episode with the idiom out and about.
Hang on Anna, didn't we cover this yesterday?
We did that this is a slightly different version of out and about.
Let me quickly spell it as a recap.
We spell it O-U-T out and A-N-D about A-B-O-U-T.
Now out and about that we discussed yesterday was just about being active doing the things that you normally do.
Today we're looking at the version that means going to different places.
So if you don't want to list off all the different places that you've gone to in a day,
then you could simply use the idiom out and about.
For example, let's imagine you come to the UK and you're staying in London.
But for one of the days you go to a town or a city outside of the capital.
So you go to Birmingham, you hop on a train and go to Birmingham for the day.
And a friend of yours says, oh, what did you do today?
Well, I went to Birmingham.
What did you do there?
