Hello and welcome to the English Likonative podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week three day three of your English five a day, the second season.
This is the series that gives you a healthy daily dose of English vocabulary so
that you can feel more confident and more like yourself when speaking in English.
So today as always I will start with a snapshot of what's to come.
When Daniella lets her hair down she is hilarious.
She really cracks me up with her witty comments and funny expressions.
Last week we went to a new club but it was a huge letdown plus I had a strong throb in my head that meant I wasn't in the mood to party but Daniella arrived and her sparkle turned the night around.
She is the best.
Did that make sense?
Don't worry if you missed something.
If something wasn't quite clear I'm going to explain everything now.
So we start with the phrase of verb crack somebody up.
To crack somebody up.
Crack we spell C-R-A-C-K.
Somebody up U-P.
To crack somebody up means to make someone laugh a lot.
We're not just talking about a little giggle but really, really laughing, belly laughing, crying with laughter even.
Who cracks you up?
Perhaps there's a famous comedian that you just look at and you fall to pieces with laughter.
