Hello and welcome to the English like a native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week four day one of your English five a day.
The second season.
This is the series that's dedicated to exploding your active vocabulary so
that you can feel more confident and more like yourself when communicating in English.
So let's begin today's episode with a snapshot of what's to come.
I'm going to give you a few lines now that contain all the target vocabulary from today's lesson.
So listen closely.
The project had been on hold for days due to disagreements among the team.
In an effort to make progress, Don stood up,
smoothed the creases in the flip chart paper and wrote out the steps he felt they needed to take to move forward.
The steps were clear and to the point, helping the team to focus on what needed to be done.
However,
Don's responses during the meeting were curt and this behaviour got him nowhere as they only frustrated his colleagues.
Don't worry if that didn't make complete sense to you.
By the end of this episode, it will certainly be clearer.
Now the target vocabulary is always recorded in our huge database of vocabulary,
everything we've ever covered in these five a day episodes
that you can access for free by following the link in the show notes.
Let's begin with the idiom to the point, to the point, to t-o-the-t-h-e, point, p-o-i-n-t.
