Hello and welcome to the English like a native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 8, day 1 of your English 5 a day.
The second season.
This is the series that is dedicated to expanding your English vocabulary so that you can feel
more confident and more like yourself when communicating in English.
We release episodes every day of the working week from Monday to Friday and all of the vocabulary
is recorded for you in our 5 a day database.
You can access this database for free by using the
link in the show notes.
So let's have a look at today's snapshot and find out what vocabulary
we will be covering.
Listen carefully.
Startled from his sleep by the loud crash, John let out a deep groan of frustration,
the acute pain in his broken leg reminding him of his recent accident.
The gloom of his bedroom seemed to match his mood as he lay there, slowly recovering and
hoping he would soon be on the mend.
That was our snapshot so let's get in to the vocabulary.
We start with the idiom on the mend.
On the mend.
On the mend, M-E-N-D.
