Five times 15.
Thank you so much.
It's so great to be here.
Thank you all for listening.
And it was wonderful to listen to all those previous speakers as well.
I want to talk to you a bit about my new book, the Wager.
But in particular, I think for today,
I want to talk about research and the search for the truth and the way that research can shape a story and change a story,
and how that research can also lead you to places that you would never expect.
For example, one day several years ago, while doing research on this project,
I found myself on a small wood heated boat off the Chilean coast of Patagonia,
barreling through a gulf that is known as the Gulf of Pain.
It was storming and the ship was rocking side to side.
All I could see in front of us was this towering wave, and behind us another towering wave.
It was so the ship was being tossed about so violently that I did not dare stand.
I just hunkered down on the deck.
If I did stand, I might break a limb.
And in case you think I'm taking a little bit of liberty, liberty an exaggeration with the truth,
I have a video that I recorded while sitting there, which I can show you now.
Now, as you're watching this and as you see the picture of me,
