Hello, I'm Claudia Hammond.
Welcome to Health Check from the BBC.
I'm here for the next half an hour with the latest on health and medicine from around the world.
We'll explore the link between some common gynecological disorders and cardiovascular disease.
And I talk to the prize winning researcher trying to transform care
for marginalized people with schizophrenia in Guatemala.
And throughout today's show,
I'm joined by global health journalist and health chat regular Andrew Green.
Now, usually you join us from Berlin, but where are you today, Andrew?
So today I'm actually in Kampala, Uganda.
And what are you there looking at?
So I'm here looking at what is actually taking place on the ground with the collapse of US Global health funding,
focusing specifically on what the impact is on the HIV response in the country.
Now there are some developments on this with the news

What has the judge said and what does this mean?
So he ruled that the dismantling of US Aid was likely unconstitutional
since it was done by Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency and they usurped the authority of the US Congress,
which both created the agency and then has the responsibility to close it if that's the decision.
So he said that at least part of the agency's operations need to be restored immediately,
