In about 30 minutes,
we'll be heading to Ukraine
because we'll be hearing from a resident of the southern city of Odessa who says
that things have got so bad with the Russian barrages overnight at his city,
as well as others that he is thinking of leaving the country.
We're going to begin, though,
in Syria because the new authorities there appear to be facing the biggest challenge to their rules
since they ousted Bashar al Assad last December.
