Now checking the day's top stories, China's countermeasures against US tariff increases have officially taken effect.
They include a 15% tax on imports of American coal and liquefied natural gas, plus a 10% tariff on U.S.
crude oil, agricultural machinery, large displacement vehicles and pickup trucks.
Beijing announced the decision last Tuesday.
It also filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization
over Washington's imposition of an additional 10% tariff on goods from China.
Meantime, China's also announced export controls on items related to five rare metals, including tungsten and tellurium.
